South Leinster Juvenile Hurling 'C' Report Round 2

Wexford C.B.S. .....................................9-13
Bridgetown V.C. ....................................2-8

GOALS, and plenty of them, helped Wexford C.B.S.’s juvenile hurlers make it two wins out of two in the South Leinster ‘C’ championship last Friday in Rathangan as they overcame Bridgetown V.C.
C.B.S. had built up a commanding lead of 6-5 to 2-4 at the break and never looked back as the goals kept rolling in. The second half fade out against New Ross V.E.C. in the first round was always on their minds so the players kept their shoulders to the wheel and saw out the game.
Bridgetown, to their credit, never gave up and fought until the end but the C.B.S defence was in no mood to let them back into the game. At the other end, the Wexford town school had too much guile and took their scores very impressively.
Early goals from David Tormey and Conor Coleman set C.B.S on their way and when Stephen Cullen flicked the ball to the net after 15 minutes the score stood at 3-4 to 0-3.
David Tormey finished the half very strong by adding a brace of goals as Luke Byrne and Dylan Hynes worked hard out the field to supply the inside men.
Liam Rockett was moved outfield in the second half and he scored two goals – one a fine ground stroke – while C.B.S scored some lovely points from flowing passing movements.
Bridgetown struck for two goals in the third quarter but the game was beyond doubt at that stage as C.B.S ran out comfortable winners. Their next game is against Ramsgrange C.S. Their best performances came from Rob Donnelly, Nicky Lawlor, Daniel Lynch, Joe Redmond, Dylan Hynes, Luke Byrne and David Tormey.
