Hurling - Rice Cup

Game 1:
Wexford CBS 0-3 Kilkenny CBS 3-5
Kilkenny were a very strong side but Wexford contained them for the first half as the half-time score was 0-4 to 0-2 in favour of Kilkenny CBS. Our points came from Aaron McGuire and Conor Coleman who converted a free.
However Kilkenny CBS turned up the heat in the second half and pulled away from us with three fine goals.

Game 2:
Wexford CBS 0-4 Templemore CBS 3-6
Templemore had drawn with Kilkenny in an earlier game and they were also a really good side. They had some huge players who were very talented. The half-time score was 2-5 to 0-1 with our point being the best one scored as Eoin Doyle passed to Liam Rockett who played in Conor Coleman for a lovely score.
The Tipp lads were bigger and better than Wexford CBS but we never gave up and battled away for the second half. Liam Rockett fed Kevin Corrigan for our second point while Liam Rockett and Aaron McGuire got further second half points.

Game 3:
Wexford CBS 1-3 Nenagh CBS 2-7
The Boker boys led Nenagh at half-time by 1-1 to 0-2 but the Tipperary school made a storming comeback in the second half as our lads seemed to tire.
Conor Coleman opened the scoring with a pointed free and our goal arrived following a long free from Liam Hore which was grabbed by Conor Coleman who saw his shot saved by the Nenagh keeper but Kevin Corrigan smashed home the rebound.
Nicky Kelly and Eoin Doyle had second half points for Wexford CBS but Nenagh grabbed two second half goals to win by seven points.

Game 4:
Wexford CBS 2-6 Callan CBS 1-2
Our first victory arrived in the last round as CBS had a right old tussle with Callan CBS. We led by 1-3 to 0-1 at half-time. Conor Coleman scored the goal after a fine solo run and he also added a point as did Aaron McGuire and Liam Rockett.
Liam Rockett surged upfield to get three points after the break but it wasn’t until Conor Coleman’s second goal that the game was safe as the Kilkenny boys looked dangerous when on the attack.
