Cycling Time Trials
C.B.S. Cycling Club held their first racing event in Friday last. A 13k time trial on the Roslare Rd.proved to be a challenging event. Twelve cyclists participated and Jack Crean was the winner, His time of 22 minutes and 10 seconds was closely followed by Patrick Dobbs, Nick Moloney and David Dempsey.
Other events will follow and the usual spin on Friday afternoons will continue.

Wexford C.B.S. honoured by Cycle Against Suicide
To coincide with Suicide Awareness Week, an award cermony recognising the achievements of schools - North and South - was held on Sept. 12th in the Department Of Education by Cycle Against Suicide.
At the special reception, Wexford C.B.S.was awarded 'Ambassador School Status'in recognition of their commitment to the promotion of positive mental health within their school and helping break the cycle of suicide on the island of Ireland.
Wexford C.B.S. was represented at the event by teachers Ms.R.Ivers and Mr.S.Ahearne and students Jack Crean, Nicky Lawlor, Kevin Birney and Nick Moloney.
Together, shoulder to shoulder, we can break the Cycle of Suicide on the island of Ireland
Transition Year Activities
Transition Years have been busy since there return to school. They have been to Shielbaggan for their outdoor pursuits, participating in climbing, coastal steering and cave navigating. An overnight in Carne followed by a 15k walk as part of their An Gaisce award.
They also travelled to Turlough Hill and Glendalough last week as part of their geography field trip.

Athletic Success
Congratulations to David McDonald on his remarkable achievements in the schools All-Ireland athletic championships last June, winning a silver medal in the Intermediate Long Jump. David also won silver in the All Irelands in long jump with his club The Menapians.
Also well done to Sam O'Neill on his All Ireland win during the summer also.
David, Sam and Luke O'Neill were also on the successful relay team that won the All Ireland 4x100m title.

2014-15
Welcome back to all our staff and pupils after hopefully enjoying a pleasant summer. A warm welcome also to our new First Year cohort, we wish them a rewarding time at Wexford C.B.S.
