The annual school mass was celebrated in Bride St. Church on Wednesday last. School Chaplin Fr. Brian Whelan lad the entire school in prayer as we expressed our hopes for a successful school year ahead. The message of the day was 'Carpe Diem', seize the day. The choir sang beautifully and well done to all involved in the organisation.

Rugby

Our Senior and Junior rugby teams began their season on Wednesday last, away to Gorey C.S. in the Section A Leinster League.
The S.C.T. had a close encounter, they went 14 points down after 10 mins. but once they got their hands on the ball and began to put phases together their confidence grew. Conor Fenlon , who was superb throughout the game, got C.B.S. on the scoreboard. Kevin Birney added the conversion. A further try was conceded before Callum Murphy crossed for Wexford. Again Kevin Birney add the extra two points.
Wexford fell 26 - 14 behind before Ian Bennett added two tries, with Birney converting one of them. With 10 mins. left the game was tied at 26 each. However some poor decisions when in possession cost Wexford and Gorey kicked a penalty and then added a converted try with the final play of the game. A ten point difference certainly didn't tell the true story of the game, however the Bokerboys will have to regroup as Tullow will be tough opposition next week.
Team: Jason Guerrine, Kevin Birney, Steve Cullen, Donal Moore, Kean Kehoe, Joe Redmond, Conor Fenlon, Chris Vickery, Aaron Smythe, Alex Ryan, Callum Murphy, Ian Bennett, Johnny Hamilton, John Lacey, David Tormey.
Subs: Darragh Rossiter, Paul Bailie, Dion Byrne, James Tackas.
