Wexford CBS 2-1 Colaiste Chill Mhantain
Wicklow.
Venue; Arklow.
Our U-15 team produced an impressive team
display recently to successfully defend their U-15 Wicklow Wexford League
title. A confident defensive performance gave the boys the platform to pull
away with two second half strikes from Ciaran Carthy, our back four of Cian
Foley, Reece Murphy, Liam Godkin and Robert Molloy Nolan dominated throughout.
Goalkeeper Eoin Kinsella was rarely troubled but marshalled his backline
impressively. Midfielders Gary Hall Roche, Josh Murphy, Joey Jackson and Adam
Feery battled well against early CCM pressure and as the game progressed they
began to create numerous chances for forward pairing Ciaran Carthy and Eoin
Kavanagh. Ciaran’s first strike was a superb 25 yard bullet that the CCM
goalkeeper could only admire as it hit the Wicklow net. For his second, he
produced a tidy finish after a long pass forward evaded the Wicklow defence. A
last minute deflected clearance gave Wicklow their consolation goal. An
impressive campaign for our boys culminated with Captain Cian Foley lifting the
Wicklow Wexford U-15 Perpetual Trophy.
