Athletics - Leinster Schools Finals

Well done to all who qualified for the All Irelands at the Leinster School Track and Field Championships held in Santry this Wednesday. There was success for the school both on the track and field again after the school won the shield for best school at the South Leinsters.   Aaron Smith won the 110m hurdles in the sprinting events. Jack Forde was victorious in the High Jump and finished in second place in the Shot Putt and qualifies for the All Irelands in both events.   Gergely Pap beat Jack to first place in the Shot Putt. Gergely finished up in second place in the Hammer.   Nathan Murphy also ensured qualification for the All Ireland schools finishing in second place in the Discus.  All four athletes will be competing at the All Ireland Track and Field Championships in Tullamore in 2 weeks time.
The school has 3 Leinster Champions from Wednesday and will hopefully add to that tally this weekend when the Seniors will be competing at Santry.   The relay team of David McDonald, Luke and Sam O’Neill and Aaron Smith will be representing the school in the 4×100m relay.   David McDonald will also be competing in the individual 100m and 200m.
