South Leinster Senior Hurling ‘C’ semi-final

Ballyhale VC..............5-8
Wexford CBS.............0-1

THE SENIOR hurlers of Wexford CBS suffered humiliation at the hands of a far superior Ballyhale VC in the South Leinster ‘C’ semi-final recently in a very disappointing performance. The game was well and truly over at half-time when, having played with the strong wind, CBS trailed by a massive 4-3 to 0-1.
The Wexford school’s attack squandered numerous scoring chances during that first half while their Kilkenny opponents were ruthless with their chances at the other end. CBS’s sole point arrived in the 20th minute when Ciaran Kirwan gave John Bridges a pass and the later put the ball between the posts.
However, CBS were naive in defence and their attitude all the field was very poor as their Ballyhale opponents totally outhurled and outworked them.
Best on a day to forget for the Boker boys were Rob Donnelly, Ciaran Kirwan, Jamie McDonnell and John Bridges.
