South Leinster Junior Hurling B Championship

Gorey CS..........................4-10
Wexford CBS...................1-6

Wexford CBS were in the game at half-time when the score was 1-6 to 1-3 in favour of Gorey CS but a second half fade-out led to the home side winning quite comfortably in the end.
Granted two of the Gorey goals came in the closing stages or ‘garbage time’, a return of just three points in the second half was disappointing.
The opening period was evenly contested as both defences were on top. Gorey opened the scoring with a goal but CBS responded through two Jordan Hayes pointed frees. After 19 minute sit was 1-3 each as Chris Cowman had squeezed a ground shot to the net following pressure exerted on the Gorey keeper by Jack O’Leary. Nicky Kelly had very cleverly placed Jordan Hayes for a point just beforehand.
Gorey went back in front before the break with three points but as both sides rested in the half-time sun, it was anybody’s game. CBS were making too many mistakes up front to make an impression and needed to be more clinical.
However it was Gorey who grabbed the scores and had taken a commanding 2-8 to 1-4 lead entering the fourth quarter. CBS’s point came following a nice move involving Jack O’Leary and Jordan Hayes before Chris Cowman pointed.
Cody Murphy pointed a free after Cian Rossiter was fouled and Jordan Hayes got CBS’s last point after a foul on Shane Hall.
