South Leinster Juvenile Hurling 'C' Report Round 3

Wexford C.B.S. ................6-12
Ramsgrange.....................3-6

A dominant third quarter which resulted in a comfortable win against Ramsgrange put the juvenile hurlers of Wexford C.B.S. into the South Leinster semi-final as group winners. This victory made it three wins out of three and C.B.S. now face the formidable task of Grennan College, Thomastown in the last four.
This game was played in splendid weather conditions on a perfect sod in the Faythe Harriers pitch in Pairc Charman.
Ramsgrange started very impressively and had two points inside the opening five minutes whereas it took C.B.S.  a while longer to get into their stride. David Tormey settled the nerves when he pounced for two goals in the 9th and 11th minutes.

Tormey and Stephen ‘Turk’ Kearney (four) helped C.B.S. extend that lead with fine points from play. Ramsgrange tagged on two more points before the half ended and that score at the interval was 2-6 to 0-4.
It was in the third quarter that C.B.S. pulled away from their opponents. David Tormey turned provider as he set up Luke Byrne and Stephen Cullen for goals and he added his third in the 44th minute to seal the game.
Ramsgrange thundered back into the game with two goals of their own but points from Kearney and Rob Donnelly maintained the cushion for the Wexford town school.
Best for C.B.S. were John Hamilton, Joe Redmond, Luke Byrne, Stephen Kearney, Dylan Hynes and David Tormey while team captain Nicky Lawlor gave a very commanding display at centre-back.The semi-final versus Grennan College is fixed for Pairc Charman on Tuesday March 29th at 12.30 p.m.
